Atlantic Impact Community Business Projects

Thank you Atlantic Impact, a workforce construction training program, located in our neighborhood. They selected Parks BBQ and Vanguard CDC as their community business projects. They painted the exterior of Parks BBQ and re-striped the parking lot of Vanguard. They provide training to young adults who are interested in the construction trades. They are located at 2791 E. Conference at Garden Theater

As small business owners, we need to consider these business tools, Meta Business Suite, MetaPortal, and other efficient methods of doing business, which were shared in the Facebook conference at the Garden Theater in Detroit.

Atlantic Impact

The Atlantic Impact program is doing it big with our youth. The carpentry cohort class are building dog houses. They are using raw lumber, nails, and their creativity. Reimagining The Civic Commons Tour

Reimagining the Civic Commons tour brought together 35 public sectors and 12 cities for 2.5 days. This initiative visited the North End Milwaukee Junction last Friday. This is a national movement to advance ambitious, social, economic, and environmental goals through revitalized and connected public spaces. Thank you Jeanette Pierce of City Institute for shining a light in the North End! 

Stephanie and Allison hosted lunch at Chroma for the group. The backdrop displayed the wonderful art curated by Donna Jackson in the lobby area where we sat. Businesses and neighbors should go by and check out the art exhibit. It is absolutely stunning. Shout out to Donna Jackson, a neighborhood resident! Some of the North End Milwaukee Junction businesses featured on the tour were: Detroit People’s Food Co-Op, MJ’s North End Ice Cream Parlor, Art in Public: BLCK Out Murals, and Vanguard CDC. 

The Sepia Coffee Project

Hey North End Milwaukee Junction!  You are out in the world making a statement!  Check out Martell Mason, owner of The Sepia Coffee Project, locate at 9417 John R. St.  He was hosting a coffee tasting at Western Market in Ferndale on Sunday July10th.  What an asset, welcome to the North End.

Steve Harris, a local North End entreprenuer, has done it again with his innovative contribution to the North End business community. Check out the new cigar bar called Byrd’s Cigar Lounge at 9417 John R. St., Detroit, MI! What a gem!

This is W.F. Reynolds Plumbing at 8417 Brush St nestled in the North End. It has been open since 1971. Frank and Stephanie Reynolds own this family-run plumbing business.
